From 5th to 10th June, the first edition of the Sud Ladies Cup will feature four national teams qualified for the upcoming World Cup U20 : Germany, Haiti, France and USA. The two last teams know well each other as illustrated by the number of games between the two teams over the last months.
The Sud Ladies Cup game on 10th June will be the third encounter between the two nations in only few months as France and USA faced each other twice on March.
The two games, played in the region of Bretagne, have seen firstly the win of the Americans (1-0) and then a 2-2 draw. These two clashes helped both sides to continue their preparations ahead of the World Cup which will be played on August.
“During the second game, we were focused on the result in order to show that we are able to beat USA. Meanwhile, I had also the aim to see everybody so I made many changes compare to the first game. Globally, I’m satisfied”, said the France U20 head coach Gilles Eyquem to the French outlet Coeurs de Foot.
The USA head coach Jitka Klimkova was also pleased with the performances made by his side. “We are very happy to finish with one win and one draw. I think we’ve produced good displays and got good results”.
