United States crowned champions of the first edition of the Sud Ladies Cup

The Americans secured the Sud Ladies Cup title after beating France (3-1). They earned three wins in as many games and scored twelve goals for only one conceded.

United States - France : 3-1

The Jitka Klimkova’s team left France without being defeated. Rated as the favorites ahead of the competition, the Americans justified their reputation.

Against France, USA waited the second half to break the deadlock. Once again, Sophia Smith put his team ahead. On the hour mark, the 17-year-old striker scored her fourth goal in the competition thanks to a stunning lob.

Despite the equalizer netted by the French forward Kelly Gago after 65 minutes, the Americans kept their calm and restored their lead quickly. Erin Gilroy netted the second goal of his side (70’) and then Penelope Hocking added another goal in the last minutes (88’). Enough to secure a win and the title for USA !

Haiti – Germany : 1-4

Few hours before the clash between USA and France, Germany earned their first win in the competition. It was a deserved win for the Europeans who created the best chances in the game. The Mannschaft secured the win thanks to goals from Sanders and Graf in the first half as well as a brace from Freigang in the second half. Meanwhile, Haiti found the net in the first half thanks to Eloissaint.
