The NWSL draft took place over the last days. This annual event is the opportunity for American clubs to select the best college players. Four players seen at the Sud Ladies Cup appear in the top 10 of the 2023 NWSL Draft !
If in Europe, clubs strengthen their squad through the traditional transfer windows, US clubs have been focused on the NWSL draft during these first days of 2023. This annual event is the opportunity for American clubs to select the best college players.
This year, we can notice that four Sud Ladies Cup graduates appear in the top 10 of the 2023 NWSL Draft ! Michelle Cooper, the United States captain during the Sud Ladies Cup 2022, has been selected by Kansas City Current as the 2nd overall pick. Nothing surprising to see the runners-up of the last season choosing the former University of Duke star.
One of the game's brightest young stars is coming to Kansas City 🤩

In the 5th position of this draft, selected by NWSL title holders Portland Thorns, we find Reyna Reyes. The 21-year-old full-back has a superb opportunity to fulfil her potential by playing for one of the best teams in the world.
With the 5th pick in the 2023 #NWSLDraft we’ve selected Reyna Reyes from the University of Alabama.
