Akram Afif to continue his development at Gijon

Great things are expected from Akram Afif, who took part in the Toulon Tournament 2014. Considered by many as the Qatar’s brightest young talent, the 19-year-old wants to continue his development in Europe.

The highly rated attacking midfielder has joined Villarreal this summer on a four-year-deal from Al-Saad. However, the Qatar international (3 caps) has to wait before to force his way into the first team as he has been sent out on loan at Sporting Gijon for the season.

Afif is aiming to gain some top flight experience and has already made his La Liga debut during Sporting Gijon-Athletic Bilbao (2-1) on August 21.
