England clinched the Toulon Tournament 2016 title as the Young Three Lions earned a deserved win over France (2-1) in the final. England dominated the first half and took the lead early. After 8 minutes, Baker netted a winning header after being set up by Ward-Prowse.
France tried to level the scores but the Pereira De Sa effort was off target. Same thing for the Bamba’s volley. The Bleuets will regret this lack of efficiency as the Young Three Lions doubled their lead just before as Ruben Loftus-Cheek scored a lovely chip !
During the second half, France didn’t reverse the trend even if Diallo netted a winning header on a corner after 78 minutes. However, the Bleuets didn’t add a second goal and England secured a fifth win in five games to win the trophy ! It’s a obviously a perfect campaign for England as Ruben Loftus-Cheek was named best player of the competition while Lewis Baker finished top scorer !
