Founded in 1977, the SBS Cup is an international competition held in the Shizuoka Prefecture (Japan). Over the last years, many talents from all around the world took part in this tournament which is one of the Toulon Tournament’s partners. The Chileans are close to win the competition for their first participation !
The Chilean national team can make SBS Cup history for its first participation as the South Americans only need a win to lift the trophy. After beating Japan (4-2) in the previous game, the South Americans were held to a draw by Czech Republic (1-1) but they clinched an extra point as they won the penalty shootout (4-2 pen).
However, the Hector Robles’ players have to keep a close eye on the Shizouka Selection. The local team has clinched a 1-0 win over Japan at the Ecopa Stadium (1-0). Led by Shirai Kaito, this team can surprise Chile.
Meanwhile, Czech Republic can still win the title if they beat Japan and Chile do not take maximum points in their last game against Shizuoka. To reach their aim, the Europeans will have to show more creativity in their upcoming game…
