Turkey, Japan and Togo have already confirmed their presence at the upcoming Toulon Tournament which will be held from 26th May to 9th June. Today, we are delighted to announce that France will be among the participating teams !
France is the most successful national team in the history of the Toulon Tournament, having won twelve titles. Les Bleuets are also the team with the most participations at the Festival Espoirs (40).
France clinched their last Toulon Tournament title in 2015 : this year, Presnel Kimpembe, Thomas Lemar and their teammates finished the competition with a perfect record !
A number of former France internationals played the Toulon Tournament : the likes of Zinédine Zidane (1991), Robert Pires (1994 & 1995) and Thierry Henry (1997) took part in the Festival Espoirs before leading France to the World Cup title in 1998.
As a reminder, the Toulon Tournament 2018 will feature 12 teams placed in 3 four-team groups. The three top teams of each group as well as the best second placed team (of all the groups) will advance to the semi-finals. Meanwhile, the other teams will play another game to determine their final ranking in the competition.
