Chris Mepham earns his first call-up with Wales !
After a 2016-2017 season during which he has played only ten minutes in a Cup game, the Welsh man has earned some game time and some confidence this year. He has appeared fifteen times in Championship, started eleven games, including two in a row on the last two games. This success has also followed him with his national team. Firstly, he has taken part to the Toulon Tournament last year, during which he has played one game against Ivory Coast (2-2) and contributed to the encouraging Wales fifth place for their first participation. Then, he has started four games with U21 squad between September and November.
With the senior squad, Chris Mepham will play the China Cup, a friendly competition which gathers Wales, China, Uruguay and Czech Republic in Nanning between 22nd and 26th March. First step for the Welsh players, the semi-final against China the 22nd. Besides Gareth Bale, Joe Allen or Asley Williams and with the famous Ryan Giggs or his first games as head coach, everything is reunited for the center-back could follow his improvement.
