OM-Atletico : Filipe Luis, Mandanda, Gameiro… these players who took part in the Toulon Tournament

Olympique de Marseille and Atletico Madrid will face each other in the Europa League final on this Wednesday (20:45). Many players involved in this prestigious game took part in the Toulon Tournament few years ago.

Filipe Luis

Selected with Brazil for the upcoming World Cup, the Atletico Madrid left-back played the Toulon Tournament in 2004. Aged only 18 at that moment, Filipe Luis took part in the Maurice Revello Tournament alongside future internationals like Fernandinho, Diego Alves and Jô. Brazil clinched the fourth place.

Steve Mandanda

One of the most emblematic goalkeepers who played the Toulon Tournament. France clinched the title in 2005 and can thank Mandanda who produced a number of fantastic displays. He earned the best goalkeeper award.

Kévin Gameiro

Gameiro was amazing during the Toulon Tournament 2007. The Atletico Madrid current striker scored 5 goals and led Les Bleuets to the title. He won both top scorer and best player awards.

Jordan Amavi

In 2014, the Marseille left-back was part of the French national team that finished runner-up of the competition. Amavi started three games and confirmed the potential showed with OGC Nice this season.

They played also the Maurice Revello Tournament :

Grégory Sertic helped France to reach the Toulon Tournament 2009 final. Few years later, in 2012, Valère Germain took part in the tournament and distinguished himself by scoring two goals. Most recently, in 2016, Florian Escales was part of the French team that reached the final.
