Johan Radet (France head coach) : « We are not playing at our level »

Despite their win over Togo (2-0), France don't qualify for the semi-finals and will play a ranking play-off. Johan Radet expressed his disappointment.

"I am satisfied with our display against South Korea in the first game, half satisfied with the game against Scotland a not satisfied at all for the Togo one. We are not playing at our level. We played five halves on six. We missed only one half against Scotland and it cost us a lot. This is the international level. I think our real spot was first of the group and not second. But the boys will learn about it.

A draw against Scotland would qualify us. We had chances and we didn't make it. I think my players gave everything on the two first games. On the third one, we lacked of rhythm and intensity but it was enough against a ten-man team.

Personally, this tournament made me discover the international level. It was a good experience.

I think my player will realize the international level requires a lot. We can't miss 40 minutes because it cost a lot. If they can learn about that, this is a good thing...

We had a lot of injuries, before the tournament and compared tho the starting list. But I had some motivatded boys, so I'm OK with that. For the most of them, it was their first tournament together. We have to find some cohesion. Some other nations were ore often together than us before the competition."
