The Canadian defender who plays at AJ Auxerre expressed his feelings about the 1-1 draw against Japan.
"In first half, I noticed we were very good. We didn't let them spaces and they had not a lot of chances. In second half, it was becoming tougher. We ran a lot until the end, we started to be tired.
We try to show that Canada improved. We want to show people that Canada can be part of the best nations of the world.
We wanted to win the game and get the three points. We didn't want to wait the result between Turkey and Portugal and qualify for the semi-finals. I am disappointed.
We think we can compete with all the big teams as we did during the group stage.
In the team, we didn't know each other two weeks ago. The coach tried to create a group. Working on tactics and playing together created some links.
The coach is very motivating when we talk with him. We want to go further. He is a passionate person."
