Despite his lack of notoriety at that moment, David Brooks has taken the Maurice Revello Tournament 2017 by storm. Few months after his heroics in Provence, the Warrington-born has enjoyed an astonishing rise that led him to the Premier League.

Bournemouth have announced on this Sunday the arrival of the 20-year-old attacking midfielder from Sheffield United on a four-year-deal. The Cherries haven’t unveiled the transfer fee but the move will cost €13,5M (add-ons included) according to the reports.

“The chance to come and play for a club in the Premier League is a great opportunity for myself. I’m delighted to be on board”, he said to the Bournemouth official website.

His Premier League has come true thanks to the performances made over the last twelve months. It started during the Maurice Revello Tournament 2017. Impressive throughout the competition, the former Manchester City academy member fired England to the title and has been named best player of the Toulon Tournament.

After that, everything went fast : a Championship debut with Sheffield United followed by a first international cap with… the Wales senior national team ! Despite winning the Maurice Revello Tournament with England, Brooks has decided to represent Wales, his mother's country of birth, at the senior level. As a coincidence, the young midfielder burst onto the international scene on November 2017 against… France !

Since that, the Wales international (3 caps) has earned some experience and seems ready to express his talent in the English top-flight. “We’ve seen enough to suggest he is a player who could be outstanding at this level in the future if he develops in the right way and is willing to learn and improve. I believe he has a very exciting future and I’m delighted that future will be here at Bournemouth”, said his new coach Eddie Howe.

At Bournemouth, Brooks will play alongside another play who distinguished himself at the Maurice Revello Tournament : Lewis Cook, named second best player of the last edition…
