U19 Euro : Jota fires Portugal to the semi-finals, England face a group stage exit

The U19 Euro started on July 16th and will be held until July 29th in Finland. Throughout the competition, we’ll keep you informed about the performances made by the Maurice Revello Tournament former players.

Portugal-Finland : 3-0

The Portuguese youngsters needed a win against the country host to qualify for the U19 Euro semi-finals and secure at the same time their World Cup U20 spot. Mission accomplished for the Seleçao thanks notably to a player who took part in the Maurice Revello Tournament 2018 : Joao Filipe commonly known as Jota.

The Benfica starlet netted a wonderful free-kick in the first half before delivering two assists for his club teammates José Gomes and Mesaque Dju.

Standings group A : Italy 7 pts, Portugal 6 pts, Norway 4 pts, Finland 0 pt.

England-France : 0-5

Unbeaten and leaders of the group B ahead of the last matchday, the English players have been totally outclassed by Les Bleuets. Following this loss, the title holders will not take part in the last four as they finished third of the group. However, the competition is not over for the Young Lions who will face Norway in a World Cup play-off.
