The Italian adventure started ideally for Ronaldo Vieira. After joining Sampdoria this summer from Leeds United, the English midfielder has made his debut with his new side during the Serie A game against Napoli on Sunday.
Benched for this clash, the two-time Maurice Revello Tournament winner (2017 and 2018) came off the bench after 84 minutes and contributed to the fantastic 3-0 win earned by his side. Sampdoria clinched the victory thanks to a brace from Grégoire Defrel and a stunner netted by Fabio Quagliarella.
After David Platt between 1993 and 1995 (55 games, 17 goals) and Lee Sharpe between 1998 and 1999 (3 games), Vieira became the third Englishman to play for Sampdoria after taking part in the Maurice Revello Tournament.
The Bissau-born is now aiming to force his way into the Sampdoria starting XI during the upcoming weeks.
