Takehiro Tomiyasu nets his first international goal with Japan

Key member of the Japan squad that took part in the Maurice Revello Tournament 2018, Takehiro Tomiyasu is now shining with the senior team.
Impressive in the Belgian top-flight with Saint-Trond (21 games started, 1 goal), the 20-year-old centre-back has earned his first international cap with the Samurai Blue on October and has been called up for the Asian Cup held this month at United Arab Emirates.

Tomiyasu made the most of this opportunity as he established himself as a regular starter. He has also scored his first goal on the international scene. Japan have beaten Saudi Arabia in the last-16 on this Monday thanks to a header netted by the Fukuoka-born. A fantastic way to celebrate his sixth international cap !
Most successful country in the competition’s history, Japan will face Vietnam in the quarter-finals.
