Italy beat Panama on penalties
After the slap in the face they received against Ukraine, Italy returned to Aubagne after 3 days' rest. Facing Carmine Nunziata's team, Panama, winners of the previous edition, were counting on this match to move up in the standings. Captain Angel Orelien, who scored a hat-trick in the first match, was once again keen to see his team win. In a combative match, Ricardo Phillips's team-mates proved to be more tenacious and thought they had clinched victory. But a late equalizer from double scorer Cher Ndour sent the match to penalties, which Italy managed better (2-2, 4-1 after TAB).
