The portugal head coach Sousa Helio reacted after the loss of Portugal against Japan (2-3). He was disappointed about the result, but not with the display.
"It's a pity for that don't put in the final result the big difference of quality in the game. We put a lot of quality in the game and created many chances to score more than the two goals. We kept doing all the 80 minutes with the same quality. Japan were very efficient. They had two chances and scored twice. Most of our players are two or three years younger and they made a good difference in the dynamic. It is sad for us because our team deserved to win the game. We have to grow up and erase the few mistakes we made. When you make the 2-1, you have to keep the ball and not permit the other team to have the possibility to score. It is a big punishment for us. But I am very pleased with what they gave and the quality they put in the game.
I saw many good points. They defended better than the first game, we only conceded two or three situations. We were much more stronger, we won many second balls, we had the ball much more. We put the game where we wanted it to be. But we had maybe seven or eight opportunites and we were not efficient.
We came here to be in conditions to win all our games. We demonstrated that we are a strong team. These games were ours but it didn't happen. We are preparing the U19 European Championship. I think we are in the good way."
