Korea wins for nothing
En première mi-temps, la rencontre est très pauvre en occasions. Pas grand-chose à se mettre sous la dent. La première occasion est à la 11ème minute. Hyun se présente seul face au gardien et a le temps de tirer tranquillement. Malheureusement pour la Corée du Sud, sa frappe n’est même pas cadrée. La seconde occasion du match arrive un peu moins de dix minutes plus tard. Bien lancé dans la profondeur, Suk Jae frappe en force, mais Cropper effectue une belle parade (20’). Au terme de cette première période, pas grand-chose à signaler, si ce n’est que les Coréens sont au-dessus autant techniquement que physiquement, malgré le score de 0-0.
Au retour des vestiaires, les Etats-Unis semblent revenir avec de nouvelles ambitions et tentent plus de choses. Cependant, ils ne parviennent pas à ouvrir le score, et vont se faire surprendre. A la 63ème minute, Sung Gyu hérite du ballon dans la surface. L’attaquant est excentré mais dribble deux défenseurs avant de placer une frappe enroulée dans la lucarne opposée. Ca fait 1-0 pour la Corée. Après ce but, les Coréens se procureront une seule occasion dangereuse qu’un défenseur américain repousse sur la ligne. Score final : Corée 1-0 USA. In the second half, USA seem to come back on the field with better ambitions and try more things. However, they won’t succeed to score, and will be surprised. At the 63th minute, Sung Gyu gets the ball in the box. The striker is not well situated but he dribbles two defenders before to send a lifted shot in the opposite side of the net. It’s 1-0 for Korea. After this goal, Korean will get one more dangerous situation but a USA defender will save on the line. Final score: Korea 1-0 USA.Even with this victory, Korea is not qualified.
