Shane O’Neill (défenseur des Etats-Unis) : « L’équipe a été incroyable »

« Je suis très content d'avoir été élu troisième meilleur joueur du Festival. Il y avait beaucoup de bons joueurs et je pense que j’ai bien joué donc je suis heureux. Je le suis encore plus du fait qu’on ait gagné. Bien sûr, la manière dont nous nous sommes qualifiés est un peu folle donc le fait de revenir et gagner contre une bonne équipe d’Angleterre est très bon. Je pense que j’ai été solide et l’équipe a été incroyable. Nous pensions que nous allions rentrer à la maison mais nous sommes revenus et avons pu remporter ce match. La troisième place est un peu surprenante. Nous étions proche de la sortie et de rentrer chez nous. Évidemment, la France nous a aidés aussi. Nous nous sommes battus en équipe.»

“I am very happy to be named as the third best player of the Toulon Tournament. There is a lot of good players and I think I played well so I am very pleased. I’m happier that we won. Obviously, the way we qualified was a little bit crazy so the fact that we came out and won against a good England team is very good. I think I was very solid and the team was incredible. We thought we were going home and then we came back and get switched on again to win. The third place is a bit surprising. We were pretty much packed and going home. Obviously, France helped us a little bit. We fought as a team.”
