Despite the struggles of Valencia (9th of the Liga) this season, Joao Cancelo, who took part in the 2014 Toulon Tournament, has put in a string of good performances with the Spanish side. The Portugal U21 international established himself as the starting right-back as he already played 31 games in all competitions in this current campaign.
Since joining the club last summer from Benfica in a €15m deal, Cancelo has shown he can be a great signing for Valencia in the long-term thanks to his versatility and his ability to going forward.
The Benifca youth graduate is clearly a promising player and he has the potential to progress to the senior Portugal side in the near future…
