We are delighted to announce that Scotland will take part in the Toulon Tournament 2017 (29 May-10 June 2017). The Scottish national team will play the Toulon Tournament for the eighth time. The Scotland’s last participation was in 1997.
Scot Gemmil, the Scotland U20 head coach, seems pleased with this opportunity. Speaking on the Scottish FA official website, he said : “The Toulon Tournament is one of the premier international youth competitions in world football so we are really looking forward to taking part next year”.
“I believe we need to continually challenge our young players if they are to fulfil their potential and the Toulon Tournament is a great platform for them to showcase their ability and pick up more international experience which will aid their development.”
The Scottish national team will come in the south of France to prepare the 2019 UEFA European Euro U21 Championship qualifiers which begin on September 2017. After Wales and Ivory Coast, Scotland is the third nation to have confirm its participation to the Toulon Tournament 2017. The other participants will be unveiled soon….
