Sudamericano U20 : Colombia stun Brazil, Peru knocked out

The South American Championship U20, called the Sudamericano U20, is currently taking place at Ecuador (18 January-11 February). During the Matchday 4, Colombia earned a crucial win while the Peruvians are already eliminated.

Group A : Brazil 7 pts, Ecuador 4 pts, Colombia 4 pts, Paraguay 4 pts, Chile 2 pt.

Paraguay earned their first win in this competition as they beat Chile (2-1). Pedro Baez, who took part in the Toulon Tournament 2016, has netted the opener but Igancio Jara has leveled the scoring for Chile with eight minutes remaining. However, Christian Paredes netted a stoppage-time winner for the Albirroja.

Few hours later, Colombia clinched too their first win as they stunned Brazil (1-0). They can thank Ever Valencia who netted a powerful free-kick after 86 minutes.

Group B : Argentina 5 pts, Uruguay 5 pts, Bolivia 4 pts, Venezuela 3 pts, Peru 2 pts

Venezuela and Bolivia shared the spoils (0-0). Both teams can regret their lack of efficiency. Howewer, the two nations have still a chance to advance to the next round.

Meanwhile, the Peruvians are the first team to be eliminated from the competition after their 0-2 loss against Uruguay. The Uruguayan captain Rodrigo Amaral has netted the opener thanks to a penalty while Nicolas Schiappacase added another goal against with a powerful shot.

REMINDER : the top four teams of the final tournament will qualify for the 2017 FIFA U20 World Cup
