They were impressive during the last edition and they’re back this year in the south of France. Title holders England will take part in the Toulon Tournament 2017. They will be the Group A’s seeded team.
In 2016, the Young Three Lions won the competition with a perfect record as they earned five wins in as many games. Moreover, the team led by Gareth Southgate has finished with the best attacking and defensive record of the tournament. Meanwhile, some England players distinguished themselves as the Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek has clinched the tournament’s best player award while his team-mate Lewis Baker finished as the tournament’s top scorer.
England will come with their promising U19 team to defend their title. The England U19s are qualified for the Euro U19 after beating Norway (3-0), Spain (3-0) and Belarus (5-1) during the qualifiers.
As a reminder, the Toulon Tournament 2017’s official line-up was unveiled on this Tuesday. A draw will be held very soon to determine the groups.
