Toulon Tournament's 100 best players : (60-51)

More than 1700 international players took part in the Toulon Tournament founded in 1967 by Maurice Revello. Many of these players have enjoyed a successful career . Ahead of the 45th edition of the Toulon Tournament (29 May-10 June), we unveil you the best 100 players in the Toulon Tournament history. Today, here are the players from 60th to 51st.

60. NICOLAS ANELKA

A few months after making his debut with Paris Saint-Germain, Nicolas Anelka won the Toulon Tournament on 1997 at only 17 years old. He scored two goals during the competition. After this success, he joined Arsenal.

59. PAUL GASCOIGNE

When he took part to the Toulon Tournament 1987, Paul Gascoigne already played more of 50 Premier League games. He helped England to end at the fourth spot thanks to a goal during the first game of the Three Lions.

58. PABLO AIMAR

On 1996, Pablo Aimar took part to the Toulon Tournament at only 16 years old. With José Pekerman as their head coach, Argentina sitted at the fourth spot of the competition.

The emblematic Arsenal player took part and won the Toulon Tournament 1994 with others next international english players as Robbie Fowler or Sol Campbell. He also played with them at Arsenal a few years later.

56. FRANCK SAUZEE

During the Toulon Tournament 1985, Franck Sauzee distinguished himself by scoring two goals for France, including one in final against England (3-1). This year, he played the Tournament with Jean-Pierre Papin, who he played with a few years later at Olympique de Marseille.

55. JAMIE CARRAGHER

With Frank Lampard and Emile Heskey, Jamie Carragher took part to the Toulon Tournament 1998 and ended 6th. He is one of the rare players who have played for only one club in their career. During more than twenty years, Carragher wore the Liverpool shirt and won two European Cups with it, including a Champions League on 2015.

54. ROBBIE FOWLER

Robbie Fowler won the Toulon Tournament 1994 with England and scores two goals. With Liverpool, he also clinched five trophies, including four during the famous and historical 2000-2001 Reds' season.

53. STEPHANE CHAPUISAT

On 1988, Switzerland ended on the last spot of Toulon Tournament. A few years later, Stéphane Chapuisat joined Borussia Dortmund and won two Bundesliga titles and a Champions League. He is the only one Swiss player to have won the prestigious cup after have played the final. With 103 caps, he is also the third Swiss player to have played the most with national squad.

52. CHRISTOPHE DUGARRY

On 1992, Christophe Dugarry sitted at the third spot of the Tournament and scored once. He notably played with Lilian Thuram, with who he will be World (1998) and European (2000) champion.

51. EVER BANEGA

After being U20s World champions (2007) and Olympic champion (2008), Ever Banega ended third of the Toulon Tournament 2009. He was named as the third best player of the competition and scored two goals. He also won the Europa League twice.
