Wales hardly defeats Bahreïn, 1-0, with a penalty at the end of the game.

The first half was played on a slow tempo and both teams only had few but big opportunities. The Asian side dominates the first period as Almansoori and Alshamsan hit both the crossbar. The first time, Almansoori arrives on the penalty area's, tries to eliminate his defender and suddenly shoots but the crossbar is here. Then Alshamsan fires a powerful shot but Pilling deflects the ball and it hits the crossbar again.

The second half was played on the same rhythm. Wales and Bahreïn couldn't find an opportunity to take the lead. However, the Robert Page's men are more dangerous as the Lewis' free-kick hit the crossbar. Eventually, it's Daniel James (78') who gives Wales's the first victory of the tournament as he converted a penalty in the last minutes.
