Founded in 1977, the SBS Cup is an international competition held in the Shizuoka Prefecture (Japan). Over the last years, many talents from all around the world took part in this tournament which is one of the Toulon Tournament’s partners. The new edition, open to the U18 players, has begun on this Thursday with great performances from Chile and Czech Republic.

The Matchday 1 of the SBS Cup, held at Fujieda, saw Chile beginning their campaign by a 2-1 win over Japan. Led by their two promising midfielders, Allende and Saavedra, the Chileans took the lead after 33 minutes : after a beautiful work from Ivan Morales on the left wing, the captain Salvador Allende put the South Americans ahead. In the second half, Chile double their lead thanks to a penalty converted by Tomas Alarcon. Japan tried to reverse the trend but their attempts were often blocked by the opponents. However, the Samuraï Blue reduced the deficit just before the final time thanks to Sugita Masahiro.

This Friday, Chile will face Czech Republic. The European side earned a narrow 2-1 win over the Shizuoka selection team in their first game. Yamaguchi Anji gave the lead to the local team in the first half but Czech Republic came from behind thanks to goals scored by Drchal Vaclav (42') and Beno David (44').
