He hasn’t scored or delivered an assist but Ruben Loftus-Cheek has impressed the observers during the friendly played on this Friday between England and Germany (0-0). The Toulon Tournament 2016 winner was named man of the match on his full international debut.

The 21-year-old midfielder distinguished himself by his composure and has shown off some skills including a double nutmeg on Leroy Sané and Marcel Halstenberg.

The England head coach Gareth Southgate has praised Loftus-Cheek for his performance against World Cup holders Germany. “I see things in him that lead me to believe he can play at this level and I think he showed that tonight”, said Southgate.

Loaned out by Chelsea to Crystal Palace this season, Loftus-Cheek has now to shine in the Premier League if he wants to secure a spot in England’s World Cup squad.
