44 Brazilian footballers are currently playing in the J-League, the Japanese First Dvision. Among all these players, one of them in particular has distinguished himself in the Land of the Rising Sun : Weverson Leandro Oliveira Moura commonly known as « Leandro ».

Loaned out to Kashima Antlers on February by Palmeiras, the Brazil international (1 cap, 1 goal) is enjoying the best season of his career so far. The 24-year-old has been in red-hot form for the Japanese side as he scored 11 goals and delivered 4 assists in 21 league games.

Kashima are currently at the top of the table with a four-point-margin over second-placed Kawasaki Frontale with two fixtures remaining. Kashima Antlers are close to clinch their 9th J-League title and the fans will probably remember the performances of Leandro during the current campaign.

The Toulon Tournament 2014 winner has shone during crucial games like the winner scored in a potential-title-decider against Cerezo Osaka (1-0). The Brazilian forward has also helped his side to overcome the difficult situations. The best example is probably the hat-trick scored against Albirex Nigata (4-2) while Kashima Antlers were facing a two-goal-deficit.

Leandro is living a love story with Kashima Antlers but the Brasilia-born is expected to return to Palmeiras at the end of the J-League season. However, speaking to Globo Esporte, the Brazilian said he was happy in Japan and expressed his desire to remain at Kashima.
