Jean-Eudes Aholou, from French fourth division to the Ivory Coast national team

As many players used to say, "anything can happen in football". Jean-Eudes Aholou won't tell the contrary. Over the three years, everything went fast for the 24-year-old player. New episode last week : the midfielder has been called up to the Ivory Coast squad for the first time of his young career. Fully deserved when you look at his season.

For his first year at the highest level, Aholo impresses everyone under the Racing Club de Strasbourg jersey. On the thirty games played so far in the French League, he has started... twenty-nine of them, proof of his consistency and the trust of his coach, Thierry Laurey. With five goals scored, including two against Olympique de Marseille and Paris Saint-Germain, nothing surprising to see him playing so often. More than this wonderful season, it's his improvement which is smashing. Before to reach this level, Aholou was playing in fourth division with Lille U23 team on 2015, the same year he took part to the Toulon Tournament with Ivory Coast. The following years, he continued his development in National (French third division) with Orléans and then in Ligue 2 with Strasbourg, played more than sixty games and was involved in two promotions in a row. Such experiences that helped him to improve and reach the success he has today.

His story and his rise have convinced Ivory Coast head coach Ibrahima Kamara to put his name on the list to face Togo (24th March) and Moldavia (27th March) in friendly games.
