The Toulon Tournament is fast approaching. To wait patiently until the beginning of the 46th edition of the competition (from 26th May to 9th June), let’s take a look at the players who could shine during the Maurice Revello Tournament 2018. Today, we talk about Liam Millar, the Canadian promising striker of Liverpool.

Could one of the Maurice Revello Tournament stars be Canadian ? Liam Millar seems to have the profile to shine during the competition.

At only 18, the Liverpool forward boasts serious references. Since he joined the Reds on 2016, Millar didn't stop to improve. With Liverpool U18s, trained by the legendary Steven Gerrard, the Toronto-born has produced some blistering displays. Enough to be promoted to U23s over the current season. He has been included as well to some first-team training sessions by Jürgen Klopp.

"There are some managers that will not play young players at all unless you’re something very, very special. It takes a lot to convince them. But Jurgen is really good with young players, he likes to play young players, so I like him", recently said Millar to the Liverpool Echo about his training sessions with the Reds first team.

His improvement within one of the best clubs of United Kingdom has not been missed by the Canadian Federation executives. Despite his youth, Millar had the joy to make his international debut with the Canada national senior squad at the end of March during a friendly game against New-Zealand (1-0).

"He’s ready", insured Canada head coach John Herdman in words relayed by the Major League Soccer. “The senior players have got behind him from the first session. He was fearless. He’s got that ‘X’ factor. He doesn’t know any other way than to try and terrorize fullbacks. It’s exciting.”

John Herdman will also be a part of the Canadian staff which will come to the 2018 Maurice Revello Tournament. A competition that will serve as a test for a new Canadian generation whose Liam Millar is one of the standard-bearers.
