img

The Maurice Revello Tournament started yesterday with the first games of the group A. This Sunday, the teams of the group B will enter in the competition : France, Scotland, South Korea and Togo.

France

After a disappointing 2017 edition which they finished at a poor sixth spot, "Les Bleuets", now coached by Johan Radet, want to show something else. Only two players of the last year are back today (Dimitry Bertaud and Romain Perraud). But with players who appeared several times in Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 this season, France are the favorite of the group B. A different place than the first one is not conceivable.

"Les Eperviers" will discover the competition. This is their first participation and they are the only African representative. We have to keep an eye on this little known nation, full of young talents. Like Kevin Denkey, 18 years-old Nîmes Olympique striker, who netted in friendly against Gap U20 recently. But also Malcom Barcola, Olympique Lyonnais B goalkeeper, Yorgan Agblemagnon, Nacional Funchal keeper and Fadel Gobitaka, Standard de Liege midfielder. The rest of the squad is formed by local players. This tournament is the perfect opportunity for them to be called-up in Togo senior squad. "We will play our game, have fun and see if some of them could incorporate the senior squad for the Olympic Games qualifyers and, later, for the World Cup qualifyers", said Augustin Amega, U21 Togo media officer, during their preparation in Manosque.
