Mexico and England shared the spoils after a thrilling game

img

The awaited clash between Mexico and England ended in a goalless draw. However, both teams have offered a thrilling display to the fans who filled the grounds of the Stade d’Honneur (Salon de Provence).

Intensity, skills, tension… everything was there except the goals ! El Tri and the Young Lions offered us a passionate and very balanced game.

Both teams had the opportunity to score. The Arsenal player Nketiah was the first to distinguish himself but his shot was saved. Few minutes later, after a good pass from Cook, Nketiah tried his chance again but his curled effort was blocked.

After these two opportunities, “El Tri” reacted but the Mexicans couldn’t find the net : after a brilliant pass from Cervantes, the Groningen winger Antuna has sent a perfect cross for Alvarado who saw his header deflected by Woodman.

One player has particularly impressed during the game : Diego Lainez. The Club America starlet has been a constant threat for England. If the 17-year-old continues his good form, Mexico has real chances to reach the next stage.
