World Cup 2018 : Honda made history, James shone !

The World Cup 2018 takes place from 14th June to 15th July. It should be noted that 81 players who took part in the Maurice Revello Tournament compete in the World Cup. Throughout the competition, we will take look at their performances !

Nigeria-Iceland : 2-0

The Super Eagles kept their World Cup dream alive thanks to their win over Iceland. Wilfred Ndidi has registered his 16th international cap during this game. The Leicester City midfielder has played the full game.

Belgium-Tunisia : 5-2

Les Diables Rouges secured their spot for the round of 16 as they outclassed Les Aigles de Carthage. Used as an attacking full-back, Yannick Ferreira-Carrasco helped his side to clinch a second win in a row.

South Korea-Mexico : 1-2

Included in the starting XI against Germany, Guillermo Ochoa, Hector Moreno and Hector Herrera have started the game against South Korea and fired “El Tri” to their second successive win.

Germany-Sweden : 2-1

Andreas Granqvist and his teammates endured a cruel outcome as the Germans scored a late goal to clinch the win. This is frustrating for the Swedish players who took the lead in the first half.

England-Panama : 6-1

The Three Lions hammered the Panamanians ! Jordan Pickford has started the game as well as Ruben Loftus-Cheek. The latter has been involved in the sixth goal scored by England !

Japan-Senegal : 2-2

Kalidou Koulibaly and Les Lions de la Teranga can have some regrets as they were held to a draw. Keisuke Honda came off the bench and netted the equalizer for the Samurai Blue after 77 minutes. Thanks to his goal, the Pachuca midfielder made history as he becomes the first Asian player ever to score 4 goals in the World Cup.

Poland-Colombia : 0-3

Los Cafeteros earned their first victory in this World Cup and can thank the Maurice Revello Tournament players. James Rodriguez, best player of the Toulon Tournament 2011, has delivered two wonderful assists, while Radamel Falcao netted the second goal of his team.
