OFFICIAL : The Democratic Republic of Congo will take part in the Maurice Revello Tournament 2020
The 48th edition of the Maurice Revello Tournament will take place from June 1 to 14 in the Bouches-du-Rhône department. The format of the competition remains identical to previous years: 12 teams will participate in the Tournament and will be divided into 3 groups of 4 teams each. At the end of the group phase, the winners of each group and the best runner-up qualify for the semi-finals. The remaining teams play ranking matches.
From this Wednesday and over the next few weeks, we will be announcing the participating teams and the schedule.
We start today with the first announced team : the Democratic Republic of Congo will participate in the next Maurice Revello Tournament.
After a first participation and tenth spot earned in 2013, the "Léopards" squad is back in Provence seven years later. "An honour and a great opportunity" according to the former Congolese international and now coach of the DRC's U-21 team, Christopher Oualembo, whose interview will be available on our website this Thursday.
In 2013, players such as Marcel Tisserand or Chancel Mbemba played in the tournament before becoming afterwards senior internationals with the Léopards.
