Football is gradually coming back around the world after a stop period due to the health crisis. In parallel with the competitions, the transfer market has also reopened with all its resounding transfers. Several of them concern players who took part in the Maurice Revello Tournament. Summary.

Ben Chilwell (from Leicester to Chelsea)

"I like his mentality, I really think he has the desire to become a great player." At the Maurice Revello Tournament 2016, Gareth Southgate, then coach of England's U-21 team, was enthusiastic about the inexperienced Ben Chilwell, who had never appeared in the Premier League at the time.
Four years and 99 Premier League games later, the 23-year-old left-back is no longer an unknown man as illustrated by his recent signing at Chelsea. The Blues, who have qualified for the next Champions League, have paid €55m to hire the English international (11 caps). The former Leicester City player has signed a 5-year contract with the London club.

Trincao (from Braga to Barcelona FC)

If he showed off his talent at the Maurice Revello Tournament 2018, it was above all during the U19 Euro won a few weeks later by Portugal that Trincao impressed observers.
Since then, rumours of transfers have been circulating about him. It was finally FC Barcelona who won last winter by paying €31m for the 20-year-old attacking midfielder, the biggest sale ever made by SC Braga!
The transfer became effective this summer for the new wonderkid of Lusitanian football, which has also enjoyed another success in recent days: his first call-up with the Portuguese national A team.

Jonathan David (from La Gantoise to Lille)

Since his participation in the Maurice Revello Tournament 2018, the 20-year-old Canadian striker has made tremendous progress. Having become the number one offensive weapon for La Gantoise (23 goals during the 2019-2020 season with the Belgian team), David has also establish himself as the key player for Canada's National A team with some astounding statistics: 11 goals in 12 appearances!
Enough to convince Lille to spend no less than €32m to make him their new attacking leader. The most expensive signing in the history of LOSC, David is in any case hardly disturbed by the sum of his transfer. "It's an honour for me to have cost so much. That's just the way it is. It's as simple as that for me to perform in the field," he said during his presentation to the media.

Antony (from Sao Paulo to Ajax)

Named in the team of the Maurice Revello Tournament 2019, the 20-year-old winger had confirmed his quality by achieving a solid end of season in Brazilian Serie A: his performances greatly helped Sao Paulo to secure a qualification for the Copa Libertadores.
His above-average technique caugh the eye of many scouts on the Old Continent: Ajax had the last word by winning the stake last winter in return for a cheque for €16m. With the Dutch club, Antony will have the pleasure of playing in the Champions League this season.

Eberechi Eze (from QPR to Crystal Palace)

The 22-year-old English midfielder (seen at the Maurice Revello Tournament 2019) is the kind of spectacular player able of changing a whole game all alone. There was no doubt that his superb season in the Championship with Queens Park Rangers (14 goals, 8 assists) would open him the door to the Premier League. The identity of the club remained to be seen: the suspense has ended in recent days as Crystal Palace has made Eze's signature official. The deal is expected to cost around €18m according to the British press.

They also moved this summer

In addition to the names mentioned above, several players who have played in the Maurice Revello Tournament animated the transfer market. Following the example of Antony, the great Brazilian prospects Pedrinho and Bruno Fuchs decided to join the Old Continent. The attacking midfielder joined Benfica while the central defender chose CSKA Moscow.

Other foreign talents have also decided to take the step towards Europe. Mexican international Gerardo Arteaga has moved from Santos Laguna to Genk, while Keita Endo has arrived in the Bundesliga and more specifically at Union Berlin after winning the J-League with Yokohama Marinos.

Others preferred to continue their progression within the league where they were already playing. Courted by many clubs, Axel Disasi finally decided to leave Reims for AS Monaco. At the same time, Sehrou Guirassy, Maurice Revello Tournament 2016 runner-up, joined Stade Rennais from Amiens and offered himself the luxury of playing in the Champions League with his new club.

Finally, we end with two transfers which are like bets on the future: Felix Correia has been recruited by Juventus while Danny Loader has signed with FC Porto. Both of them took part in the Maurice Revello Tournament 2019, the Portuguese and the English player will first play with the reserve team of their new club. Before they can aim for more?
