Bayern Munich gamble on Taichi Fukui

Few weeks after playing the Maurice Revello Tournament 2022, Japanese midfielder Taichi Fukui joins Bayern Munich.
The love story between Bundesliga clubs and Japanese players continue as Bayern Munich announced this week the signing of youngster Taichi Fukui from Sagan Tosu.
A big step forward for the 18-year-old midfielder. The latter has already played several J-League games with Sagan Tosu and he’s a current member of the U19 Japan national team. Fukui has notably played the Maurice Revello Tournament 2022 with his country : he was included in the starting XI against both Comoros (0-0, 0-3 pen) and Argentina (2-3).

"It's a big honor for me to be able to be playing for FC Bayern soon. I will give everything for the club", Fukui told to the Bayern Munich official website.
Taichi Fukui has convinced the German giants to sign him after having a successful trial with the Bayern reserve team in August. A trial made only few weeks after taking part in the Maurice Revello Tournament 2022 with Japan.

“Taichi is an interesting talent, a technically adept attacking midfielder, nimble and dribbling strong. Also due to his strong personality, we are convinced of his further development potential,” said sporting director of Bayern youth teams Holger Seitz.
Fukui will play initially with the Bayern reserve team before hoping to follow in the footsteps of Shinji Kagawa, Makoto Hasebe or Daichi Kamada. As many Japanese stars who played the Maurice Revello Tournament before shining in the Bundesliga.
