An unattractive draw between England and Korea
Les timides tentatives de Hyunbeom (KOR, 11) (44') et Keane (ENG, 6) (52') font à peine frissonner les spectateurs. Ils vont pouvoir exulter quelques minutes plus tard. Changmin (KOR, 8) prend sa chance des vingt mètres et égalise (1-1, 55'). Les Coréens sont même proches de prendre l'avantage lorsque ce même Changmin (KOR, 8) tente un ciseau acrobatique dans la surface qui passe de peu à côté (66'). Les Coréens sont enfin dans le match et tentent de passer devant. Sans pour autant y parvenir. C'est même l'Angleterre qui est proche d'arracher la victoire dans les arrêts de jeu sur une tête de Keane (ENG, 6) sauvée sur sa ligne par Dong Jun (KOR, 1). Les deux équipes vont désormais se disputer à distance la deuxième place du groupe.
A small rhythm, few chances, a low intensity… This England-Korea game was disappointing and sold with an unattractive draw (1-1). The stake was even important. Both teams were fighting for the second place of the group, and still had a chance to take the first one. Everything made thinking that the game would be pleasant. This hypothesis is confirmed by the start. On a great pass by Forster-Caskey (ENG, 14), Woodrow (ENG, 19) scores the first goal and gives the lead to England after three minutes (1-0, 3'). The rest of the first half has not much interest, not many attempts, not much rhythm…
Hyunbeom (KOR, 11) (44') and Keane (ENG, 6) (52') try to wake up the game, without success. But a few minutes later, Changmin (KOR, 8) takes his chance from the twenty meters and equalizes (1-1, 55'). Koreans are near to take the lead when Changmin (KOR, 8), again, tries an acrobatic volley in the box which finish not far from the post (66'). Koreans are now in the game and try to overtake England. Without achieve it. It's even England which is near to get the win with a Kean (ENG, 6) header, saved on the line by Don Jun (KOR , 1). Both teams will now fight for the second place of the group.
