Les Pays-Bas se font peur face au Costa Rica

Pour cette première journée du groupe A, les Pays-Bas se sont imposés difficilement face au Costa Rica (3-2). Largement dominateurs en première période, les Néerlandais ont baissé le pied après la pause et ont failli se faire surprendre par une équipe du Costa Rica d'abord timorée, avant de se montrer plus entreprenante. Les Pays-Bas démarrent le match tambours battant et ne tardent d'ailleurs pas à prendre l'avantage. Bien lancé en profondeur, El-Ghazi (NED, 11) fixe le gardien et ouvre le score. Il est imité par Vloet (NED, 9) trois minutes plus tard, à la réception d'un coup-franc dans la surface. Cela fait déjà 2-0 pour des Néerlandais largement au-dessus des Costariciens, dépassés. Combinaisons, enchaînements technique et maitrise, les hommes de Remy Reijnierse maitrisent totalement leur sujet et inscrivent même un troisième but grâce à Vloet (NED, 9), idéalement servi en retrait par son capitaine Van Overeem (NED, 10), intenable. Ramirez (CRC, 7) maintient toutefois l'espoir pour les siens juste avant la pause en marquant de près de la tête.

Piqués au vif, les Costariciens entament mieux la seconde période. Après avoir manqué une tête à bout portant, Ramirez (CRC, 7) se rattrape quelques minutes plus tard en réduisant l'écart seul face au gardien, s'offrant au passage un doublé. Pas du tout dans leur match en première période, les sud-Américains sont revenus avec une énorme détermination et se relancent totalement. Mais ça ne suffira toutefois pas pour revenir à hauteur des Pays-Bas, qui s'imposent dans la douleur.

A tough win for Netherlands

For the first game in the group A, Netherlands hardly beat Costa Rica (3-2). After a good first half, the Oranjes shown more difficulties after the break against a surprising Costa Rica team. Netherlands don't wait and instantly go forward. The Oranjes make the difference after only three minutes. Picked out at the edge of the box, El-Ghazi (NED, 11) gives the lead to Netherlands. Three minutes later, his teammate Vloet (NED, 9) scores again after a long free-kick sent in the Costa Rica area. There are already two goals for Netherlands on the score sheet. With team skills and great passes, Remy Reijnierse boys are logically ahead and score a third goal by Vloet (NED, 9), found by his captain Van Overeem (NED, 10), on fire. Costa Rica doesn't give up and Ramirez (CRC, 7) keeps his team alive by a wonderful head just before half-time.

Back in the pitch with better intentions, Fallas Arias' mens score an other goal. After a great chance missed, Ramirez (CRC, 7) scores again a few minutes later by a curve shot right into the top corner, his second personal goal. Not in a good day during the first half, South Americans are back with a stunning determination and come from behind. But that won't be sufficient to come back and equalize. A tough win for Netherlands.
