A few weeks before its 47th edition, from 1st to 15th June, the Maurice Revello Tournament goes back in time. Since 1967, thousands of players have trodden the Festival’s pitches. Among them, nearly 2000 became international within the sixty-five different nations who have taken part in the competition. To travel through the Tournament’s fifty years of history, each one marked by some famous football players at their debuts, we have imagined twelve dream teams, country by country. Third best XI, the Italy's.

Luca Marchegiani (1987) : Despite he couldn't avoid the last place of the Maurice Revello Tournament with his team in 1987, the Italian goalkeeper had a successful career. In 1993, he became the most expensive goakeeper in the football history after Lazio signed him from Torino for 6M£. With the Laziale, the World Cup 1994 runner-up won the Serie A title in 2000.

Ignazio Abate (2008) : Squadra Azzurra came to compete in the Maurice Revello Tournament 2008 to prepare the Olympic Games. Before that big event, they made an outstanding path during the competition, winning the title for the first time in their history. Several young talents were among this team, as Abate, who scored against United States (2-0) during this edition.

Andrea Barzagli (2002) : The world champion 2006 didn't make yet his debut in Serie A when he helped his country to reach the final of the Maurice Revello Tournament in 2002. Barzagli took part in the five games played by his national squad during this edition, including the final against Dani Alves and Adriano's Brazil.
