The Sud Ladies Cup is fast approaching ! To wait patiently until the beginning of the competition, let’s take a look at the players who could shine during this first ever edition which will be held from 5th to 10th June. Today, we talk about the Haitian striker, Nérilia Mondésir.
Nérilia Mondésir, the Montpellier striker, will be one of the players to watch during the Sud Ladies Cup. The youngest Haitian made her debuts in football at 6 years-old.
In 2016, she began her path by joining the AS Tigresses team and won the U17 women CONCACAF Golden Shoe the same year. To build on her progress, the Caribbean realized a try during two weeks with Olympique Lyonnais, and a second with Montpellier in June 2016.
It’s only the 24th January 2017, when she leaves her home country to join the official club of Montpellier, that she signed a five-year contract with MHSC. Since her arrival in France, shemainly featured with the MHSC U19 squad.
At the same time as her debuts with the MHSC, Mondésir distinguished herself on the international stand at the occasion of the second phase of the U20 Worl Cup qualifyers in November 2017, in Saint Kitts and Nevis. She scored 7 goals on 3 games and permitted her squad to qualify for the next stage, which took place to Trinidad and Tobago in January.
During this ultimate round, the Haitian and her team realized an amazing display, as they finished 3rd of the CONCACAF Cup. Further to that, they get their ticket for the World Cup. A historic qualification which will allow the Montpellier forward to end her season serenely with the MHSC, the club in which she landed a little more than year ago.
From the top of her 1.73 meters, focused in her aim to improve, she counts on this Sud Ladies Cup, with a first game against France on Tuesday 5th June in Salon de Provence stadium, to keep her development.
