Both 5th place and 7th place matches were held on this Thursday. France and Japan have respectively beaten Canada (2-1) and Togo (1-0).

5th place match : France 2-1 Canada

The Bleuets ended their Maurice Revello Tournament 2018 campaign by a win over Canada. The Johan Radet boys earned a deserved victory. Axel Bakayoko netted the opener after a well-guided counter-attack. Then, Ambri doubled the lead after a stunning cross from Perraud. Enough to secure a win despite the goal score by Choiniene for Canada in the last minutes. “I have a felling of accomplished duty. We came here today to clinch the fifth place and we did it. The boys have invested themselves and were serious until these last three minutes and this avoidable goal. Our record in this tournament is correct as we won three of our four games”, said the French coach Johan Radet.

7th place match :  Japan 1-0 Togo

The Samuraï Blue have beaten Togo and can thank Koji Miyoshi, who is probably the best Japanese player so far. The young attacking midfielder netted the winner just before the half time thanks to a lovely chip ball. In the second half, Togo couldn’t find the net despite two huge chances created by Balgou and Nyavedji. "The players gave everything. We really wanted to end on a victory”told Akinobu Yokouchi, the Japanese head coach.
