During the Maurice Revello Tournament 2019 opening game, Japan defeated England, the title holders of the competition (2-1). Despite the opener scored by Trevoh Chalobah in the first half (36'), the Asian team managed to equalize and take the lead after the rest.
Takuma Ominami (47') and Yoichi Naganuma (68') put Japan ahead in nearly twenty minutes. A huge victory for Japan against the triple competition winners that allow them to take the lead of the group A.
