Medel, Vargas, Jara et Mena remportent la Copa America !
Une performance historique ! En s’imposant face à l’Argentine aux tirs au but (0-0, 4-1 pen), le Chili a remporté pour la première fois de son histoire la Copa America.
Trois joueurs chiliens passés qui ont disputé le Festival International Espoirs en 2008 ont joué un rôle majeur dans le succès de la « Roja ». Le premier d’entre eux est évidemment Eduardo Vargas. L’attaquant du Napoli a terminé meilleur buteur de la compétition avec quatre réalisations.
Les deux autres joueurs sont Gary Medel et Gonzalo Jara. Le milieu de l’Inter Milan a disputé toutes les rencontres de cette Copa America en tant que titulaire tandis que le défenseur de Mainz pris part à quatre rencontres.
Dans l’effectif chilien, nous retrouvons également un joueur passé par le Festival International Espoirs en 2009. Il s’agit d’Eugenio Mena qui a joué quatre matches dans cette Copa America 2015 dont deux en tant que titulaire.
P.S : l’arbitre de la finale Chili-Argentine n’était autre que Wilmar Roldan, passé par le Festival International Espoirs en 2010.

Medel, Vargas, Jara and Mena crowned Copa America champions !
It’s an historic win ! Chile were crowned Copa America champions for the first time of their history after beating Argentina in a penalty shootout (0-0, 4-1 pen).
Three Chilean players who took part in the 2008 Toulon Tournament played a key role in this success. The first of them is obviously Eduardo Vargas. The Napoli forward was the top scorer of the competition as he scored four goals.
The two other players are Gary Medel and Gonzalo Jara. The Inter Milan midfielder played all the games and he was every time in the starting line-up while the Mainz defender took part in four matches.
In the Chile’s squad, we find also a player who contested the Toulon Tournament in 2009. It’s Eugenio Mena who made four appearances in this 2015 Copa America including two as a starter.
P.S : the referee of the final Chile-Argentina was Wilmar Roldan who was one of the 2010 Toulon Tournament’s referees.
