Samuel remporte le championnat de Suisse avec le FC Bâle !
Invaincu en championnat depuis novembre, le FC Bâle a été sacré champion de Suisse à cinq journées de la fin après sa victoire (2-1) contre Sion. Walter Samuel, vainqueur du Tournoi de Toulon 1998, a joué un rôle important dans ce succès en disputant 15 rencontres et en marquant un but cette saison.
Le joueur de 38 ans va conclure sa carrière avec ce titre puisque l’ancien défenseur du Real Madrid a annoncé qu’il prendrait sa retraite à l’issue de l’exercice actuel. Durant sa carrière, Samuel a remporté de nombreux trophées dont 6 championnats d’Italie. Un avec l’AS Rome et cinq avec l’Inter Milan.
