Vincent Janssen, who took part in the Toulon Tournament 2015, has completed a move from AZ Alkmaar to Tottenham. The 22-year-old has penned a four-year-contract with the Premier League side while the transfer fee is believed to be around €22M.
This transfer caps an incredible rise for a player who was an unknown twelve months ago ! When, he played the Toulon Tournament 2015 in June 2015, Janssen was still an Almere City FC player (Dutch second division). One month later, the Heesch-born joined AZ Alkmaar, the Eredivisie side.
Despite his inexperience at this level, Janssen was very impressive as he scored a number of goals. His performances allowed him to a earn his first Netherlands call-up in March 2016. Few days later, Janssen rewarded the Netherlands head coach’s confidence as he netted his first international goal against England. Meanwhile, Janssen has maintained his good form with AZ Alkmaar and finished Eredivisie’s top scorer with 27 goals in 34 league games.
Now, the Dutch striker is relishing a new chapter in his career !
