Portugal won the European Championship for the first time of their history as they beat France during the Euro 2016 final (1-0 AET) thanks to Eder who scored the winning goal after 109 minutes.
Even if Cristiano Ronaldo (Toulon Tournament 2003) was forced off with a knee injury, the Seleçao reached its aim and can thank the goalkeeper Rui Patricio (Toulon Tournament 2009) who was unbeatable !
Two other players who took part in the Toulon Tournament were in the Portugal starting line-up : Cédric Soares (TT 2011) and Joao Mario (TT 2013).
