Fousseini Diawara (Mali head coach) : "I liked how players reacted"

"We can have some regrets. We did a great start and were rewarded by two goals. We did the most difficult against a generous Mexico team. Then, we had a lack of concentration and maybe we thought that it would be easier. But it's a big Tournament with very good teams and unfortunately we were less strict. Too bad because we did a big work in the first fifteen minutes. We didn't have time to prepare the first game because players arrived the day before, for this game we had more time. Their equalization punished us and we conceded the third goal after the break. But I liked how players reacted."

Adama Niané (Mali captain) : "We were less focused"

"We prepared well the game, players were motivated. We knew that we could win the game because Mexico played two games in a row and couldn't rest. We had three days to prepare this game. We did a good start. But after our two goals, we thought that it was over and we were less focused."
