Samir Chammamm (Bahrain head coach) : "Collectively, we were better"

The Bahrain head coach Samir Chammamm expressed his bitterness after his team lost against Ivory Coast (1-0) :

"It's a disappointing result, but if we look at the time given to the preparation, with only ten trainings, the display was good. It's a discovery for us to participate at this tournament. I wanted to be a part of this competition in order to know my players because I'm here only since April. Obviously, we hoped to get the win but today we weren't lucky enough.

We had a lack of concentration in front of the net and of consistency in our weak moments. Our opponents were more experienced and meticulous. But on the collective side, we were better. The most important in this competition is to face stronger opponents to improve ourselves. The players discover the high level and somme different ways to play football. For the rest, destiny is in our hands".
