The Toulon Tournament is fast approaching. To wait patiently until the beginning of the 46th edition of the competition (from 26th May to 9th June), let’s take a look at the players who could shine during the Maurice Revello Tournament 2018. Today, we talk about Ahmed Suhail Al Hamawende, the Qatari young player of Al-Sadd.
Qatar recently undertook a big change of generation into their national squad in order to prepare the 2022 World Cup. Meanwhile, several Qatari clubs followed this trend, as Al-Sadd. The Qatar Stars League runners-up have incorporated many young players and made them play on the national stand but also on the continental scene, especially in the AFC Champions League.
Ahmed Suhail is one of the those who benefited from this rejunevation strategy. The 19 year-old player, able to play in defense or midfield, gradually strengthens his spot in the Al-Sadd starting line-up, trained by Jesualdo Ferreira, the former FC Porto head coach.
Since his debuts with the first team on November, Ahmed Suhail already played 15 games in all competitions so far with Al-Sadd, including 5 AFC Champions League games.
On the other hand, the young Qatari is still waiting to shine on the international scene with the Qatar national team. This long-awaited opportunity may come during 2018 Maurice Revello Tournament and would be the logical consequence of his improvement.
