For the matchday 2 of the group A, the Qatar-China game offered a thrilling scenario. Whereas Qataris were thniking they had the win, Chinese equalized in the last few seconds (1-1). A bad resultat for both teams.
Full of ambitions, both squads offered a good game start in a filled Stade d'Honneur this Tuesday evening. Very lively, the first half was tight. If the ball possession is equal, the Chinese had the best chances.
At the 13th minute, Jiabao Wen get a huge opportunity, but he saw his shot blocked by the goalkeeper. China weakened and let their opponent take the lead at the 15th minute, thanks to Alganehi left foot.
Qatar was sure of their strength and attempted several dangerous attacks, forcing China to to defend and be more compact.
Eager to equalize just before the rest, Sun Jihai's players started to assail the Chinese goal but couldn't make it.
More determined than ever after the break, the Chinese team tried to come back into the game. And the Qatar defense, infallible since the beggining of the game, cracked just before the final whistle : the young Cong Zhen equalized thanks to a penalty shot during extra time. A demonstration of the self-sacrifice of the Chinese.
